NEWSLETTER dated 12.01.2001: More than 60% of the grievances received by Parivartan on account of Delhi Vidyut Board have been resolved in the last 3 months. Parivartan is pursuing with the balance grievances. Parivartan filed a PIL in Delhi High court on the issue of industrial relocation in Delhi. Whereas action is being taken against the industries operating in non-conforming areas, no action is being taken against the officers who granted them licenses to operate in the first place. Since the matter of industrial relocation is already pending in Supreme Court, HC refused to intervene. So, we will file a PIL in SC in the coming few days. Parivartan, alongwith sister organisation Gati, will be starting a newspaper called "India Demands". The main thrust of the paper will be anti-corruption. It will be a monthly publication with an annual subscription of Rs 25/- only. The first issue of the newspaper will come out on this republic day. The newspaper will also be available on the site www.indiademands.com Mr H D Shourie of "Common Cause" fame has promised all support to Parivartan's activities. |
